Keto Diet with South Indian dishes

This blog post is dedicated to folks who are just getting started with Keto diet plan and would like to continue eating delicious South Indian food.

I know there are so many keto diet articles out there that are very useful. When I first started keto diet there were very few resources with South Indian dishes. Sharing my first weeks diet plan with delicious South Indian dishes.

In short, Keto diet is a high-fat, low-carb diet. Keto diet forces your body to burn fats for energy instead of carbs. Your body breaks down fats into ketosis, instead of turning carbohydrates into glucose for fuel.

Before we start here are few suggestions to get started with Keto diet:

1. Make a plan

Make a plan and buy keto-friendly groceries for the upcoming days or a week. Keto Diet Grocery Shopping List For Beginners is an excellent resource to get started, know what to eat and what not to eat.

2. Make it your own

You do not have to follow someone else’s diet plan. Instead continue to eat same dishes that you enjoy eating but with keto-friendly substitutes.

For example, Substitute wheat flour with almond flour, sona masuri rice with shirataki rice, sugar with stevia, and so on.

That being said, here is my first week of Keto Diet with South Indian dishes that I like.

Day 1

Cauliflower rice, Methi with Ghee and Salmon fry with Indian spices.

Day 2

Egg omelette with spinach, green pepper, onions and cheddar cheese.

Cauliflower rice, mushrooms sautéed in butter, cauliflower fried, and boiled eggs.

Bulletproof coffee

Eggplant with Ghee, Cauliflower rice

Day 3

Spinach cheese omelette

Butter chicken curry, Cauliflower rice.

Flaxseed roti with butter chicken curry

Day 4

Smoothie (Avocado, Spinach, Flaxseeds, almond milk & stevia)

Almond flour roti with butter chicken curry

Greek yogurt with avocado, almond milk smoothie and vanilla extract.

Almond flour roti with Karela fry

Day 5

Bulletproof Chai

Pancake made with Eggs, Almond flour, cream, coconut flour, baking powder and vanilla extract.

Almond flour roti with Mutton liver curry

Shirataki rice with mutton curry (goat meat)

Day 6

Almond flour roti with Spinach curry

Dosa made with almond flour, cheddar cheese, salt. Coconut chutney on the side.

Day 7

Almond flour roti with cabbage curry

Chai with heavy cream, cardamom ground and stevia

Almond flour roti, cabbage curry and mutton curry.
